Netflix’s newest food documentary, Unfinished Beef , brings together competitive eaters Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi for a rematch 15 years in the making.
Chestnut and Kobayashi are two of the most famous competitive eaters in the world.
Chestnut is the current world record holder for hot dog eating, having consumed 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes at the 2021 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. Kobayashi is a six-time winner of the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.
The rivalry between Chestnut and Kobayashi began in 2007 when Kobayashi defeated Chestnut at the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. Chestnut has since won the contest 14 times, but Kobayashi has never won again.
Unfinished Beef will follow Chestnut and Kobayashi as they prepare for a rematch at the 2023 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.
The documentary will also explore the history of competitive eating and the unique relationship between Chestnut and Kobayashi.
